10th August 2010
We are pleased to announce that Felsental Danielle (Daphne), sister to Felsental Danison (Ike) has just had her hip score back from the BVA. Her score was 3 + 6 = 9, another of the consistantly low scores from our breeding lines.
9th August 2010
Those of you who know Sandra will be pleased to hear that her "few days" in an Oxford hospital has been postponed for the foreseeable future. She is very happy that her visit to Nuremberg in September is no longer in doubt!!
20th July 2010
Congratulations to Geoff and Tina Melsome who now own Felsental Ferrari (Enzo), brother to our Felsental Falkon (Frodo) and son of this years Crufts "Best of Breed" Ch. Clokellys Lagos. They have just received his hip and elbow scores from the BVA. Hips 5+3=8 and elbows = 0. Another endorsment for the use of health tested stock.
12th May 2010
We apologise for the lack of change to the website over the last few months. Sandra and I have been very busy with matters concerning the GSD Club of Devon and the Kennel Club. Now that these matters have been resolved we can concentrate on our Kennel and our dogs and hope that there is a wonderful new opportunity for our breed, the German Shepherd Dog, where health and fitness for purpose truly comes before monetary concerns.
12th March 2010
Clokellys Lagos at Crufts.

We would like to give our sincere congratulations to Carol Keen and her dog Clokellys Lagos. Lagos was awarded "Best Dog" and "Best of Breed" at Crufts yesterday. He only returned from Germany a few weeks ago having obtained his SchH 3, AD and Kkl 1. We look forward to his future with great interest.
Lagos is the sire of our two youngsters Felsental Falkon (Frodo) and Felsental Florence (Flo-Jo) who we hope will follow in their fathers footsteps.
12th December 2009
More Hip Scores.
We are again pleased to announce a set of hip scores that are half the breed average! Felsental Danison's score has come back at 4-6 = 10. This, together with his haemophilia negative status means that we will be able to offer him at stud sometime next year.
11th November 2009
Hip Scores
We are pleased to announce that we have received the hip scores for our two Dutch bitches. Tempeltal Hasel vom Felsental (Bertha) scored 3:4=7 and Tempeltal Spruce vom Felsental (Jaki) scored 4:5=9. We are proud to be keeping up our standards of health and "fitness for purpose" despite the fact that the UK Kennel Club does not support mandatory health checks for pedigree dogs.

One of our regular Open Shows. The judge was breed specialist Kim Powdrill (Vonmeister). We entered three dogs and did very well with all three. Felsental Danison (Ike) was second in Special Yearling Dog. Romainville Tadee vom Felsental was first in Post Graduate Dog and Zeline vom Luttersbruch was second in Open Bitch. Zeline was leading the class when she became lame and was dropped to second. Fesental Falkon and Felsental Florence came along for the ride although they are not old enough to be shown.

Birthdays!

We have now caught up with our work and had the time for a couple of outings over the last week. We attended the British Sieger last Sunday and were pleased to see dogs entered from Europe and Ireland and a couple from our Club who did very well. We also celebrated Ghandi and Zeline's birthdays with the, now traditional, Dartmoor hike. They are pictured sitting on the London Bridge corbels at Swelltor Quarry. Ghandi was 7 on 17th September and Zeline was 7 on 19th. Jim also celebrated a birthday on 16th (enough said!!). Both (or should it be all three!!) are now eligible for "Veteran" classes

Annual Visit to Germany
We would like to apologise to our regular readers for the lack of change to the website over the last couple of weeks. I am sure that you will understand that to take nearly a week off to go to Germany leaves a lot of catching up to do when we return. Our visit to Ulm was very rewarding but very sad for us as it has been a year since we lost our handsome Romainville Danny at Jutone. We must now put that behind us and concentrate on preparing our babies for their debut in the show ring. Congratulations to the breeders from the UK who presented their dogs at the Sieger Show and did well.
We were lucky enough to see a couple of young dogs that will soon be based in the UK and will complement our beautiful bitches, hopefully becoming part of our breeding strategy in the year ahead.
15th August 2009
Joint German Shepherd Dog Club's Two Day "National" Championship Show
This show was hosted by the GSD Club of Wales this year at the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells. The judge for dogs was international breed specialist Herr Rene Rudin from Switzerland. We entered Felsental Danison (Ike) as it would be his last time in the puppy class. He finished 8th in a class of 14 which was no disgrace in a class of this quality.
10th August 2009
New additions to Jutone & Felsental.
We are pleased to announce that there are two new additions to our Kennel. Felsental Falkon and Felsental Florence will be staying with us to pursue a show career. Full details are on the "Young Hopefuls" page.
6th August 2009
Haemophilia Tests
It is our policy to comply with all health related testing suggested by the Kennel Club and the GSD Breed Council on all our breeding stock. In the last week we have had haemophilia tests carried out on Felsental Danison (Ike) and Tempeltal Sologem at Jutone (Solo). We are pleased to announce that both tests came back as "Normal".
26th July 2009
Romainville Tadee
Those of you who are regular readers of our news page will remember that we exhibited Romainville Tadee at the Plymouth and District Open Show and the GSD Club of Wales Open Show earlier in the year. We are very pleased to announce that we have now purchased Tadee who is in the process of having his name changed to "Romainville Tadee vom Felsental". Our sincere thanks go to Kathy George for letting us have him. Since coming to live with us he has been hip-scored (3:4 = 7) and Haemophilia tested (Normal). Tadee will be at stud to approved bitches and his pedigree is on the "Stud Dogs" page.

Breed Surveys at GSD Club of Devon Open Show, 6th June 2009
At the GSD Club of Devon Open Show we were fortunate enough to have Mr John Ward conducting Breed Surveys for the German Shepherd Dog Breed Council. We presented Jutone Amarilla (Wizz) and Romainville Morietta at Jutone (Roma) for survey. Wizz' hip score had been held up at the BVA but finally came back at 4 : 6 = 10 in the nick of time! We have just heard that both of the bitches were graded "Class 1". An excellent result.
2nd May 2009
South West Working and Pastoral Breeds Association Open Show
This is one of our regular Open Shows and this year German Shepherds were judged by breed specialist Joanne Wallis Bagga (Velrok). Our results were amazing! Felsental Danison (Ike) won Minor Puppy Dog, Best Puppy Dog and Best Puppy in Breed. His sister, Felsental Danielle (Daphne) won Minor Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy Bitch. Jutone Amarilla (Wizz) won Special Yearling Bitch and Best Bitch. These results more than made up for the disappointments of the last couple of shows!
24th April 2009
West of England Ladies Kennel Society Championship Show
Our show season seems to be very slow getting going this year so it appears that we have entered a couple of shows that we would not normally enter. This was one of those shows! The judge was Mr John Carter who we had not heard of. We now know that Mr Carter prefers the "Alsatian" type of dog! We entered two of our dogs, Felsental Danison (Ike) in Minor Puppy Dog and Zeline vom Luttersbruch in Open Bitch. Both were fourth, both were the highest placed "German" type in their class and Zeline's class had fourteen present. Mr Carter took the time to comment that Zeline was in fabulous condition and was a credit to our Kennel. Overall we were quite pleased with the result for this type of show.
29th March 2009
GSD Club of Wales Open Show
We took the two puppies Felsental Danison (Ike) and Felsental Danielle (Daphne), Romainville Tadee and Zeline vom Luttersbruch to this show which was judged by Italian Egidio Esposito (Degli Achei). Unfortunately our dogs were not what the judge was looking for and our highest place was third with Tadee. A disappointing day for us but we were very pleased with the puppies performance at their first show.
8th March 2009
Crufts

Our second year at this world famous show. Sunday was the Pastoral Group and the judge for GSD's was breed specialist Mr Tony Stanbra. Jutone Lisa at Chrisinge (Lisa), handled by Jim, was placed first in Veteran Bitch. In the Bitch Challenge she was the only dog kept in the ring against the eventual CC and Reserve CC winners. We were very, very pleased with this result.
Congratulations also to Marina-Jane Julian who handles some of our dogs. Marina was second in the GSD Breed Council's "Most Promising Young Handler" Competition for 2008. The presentation was made during a break in the judging by Mr Stanbra.
14th February 2009
Plymouth and District Canine Society Open Show
Our first show of 2009 and a wonderful start to the year. German Shepherds were judged by breed specialist Matthew Lang at this all-breed show. Jutone Amarilla (Wizz) was first in Special Yearling Bitch. Romainville Tadee who is staying with us was first in Graduate Dog, Best Dog and Best of Breed. Congratulations to Tina and Geoff Melsome who now own Jutone Arturo (Arfur) who was first in Special Yearling Dog, his first show with them. Thanks to Marina for handling Tadee. Jim handled Wizz and Arfur and gives special thanks to the judge for keeping the running to a minimum!
